"Chinese Drywall was the largest claim Meritage Homes has ever faced. Bob stayed involved every step of the negotiations and though it was not easy, we ultimately obtained a very favorable result. We appreciate the fact that when our coverage was called upon our broker was as invested as we were in the outcome. We truly value Bob’s strategic yet positive approach to coverage and claims issues."

Tim White – Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Meritage Homes

"Bob Gore and the team at Gore Lieske & Associates have become an invaluable business partner to us here at Van Daele Homes. Bob’s extensive industry knowledge and contacts in the real estate insurance field have provided leading edge solutions for our insurance needs for the diverse types of land and construction transactions we negotiate. The team at Gore Lieske worked to learn our business and how we operate and have provided first-class customer care in all aspects of our insurance needs."

Jeff Hack – President & CEO, Van Daele Homes

Their experience and knowledge are essential in assisting Hearthstone to negotiate complex business deals. Bob and his associates at Gore Lieske have proven time and again that they put our interests first and always go the extra mile to be of assistance."

Mark Porath – CEO, Hearthstone, Inc.

"Five Point has worked with Rob Lieske and the team at Gore Lieske & Associates since our formation in 2009. We have come to view Rob and the team as a valued partner regarding Five Point risk management insurance review and assessment. Rob's advice has always been thoughtful and constructive with the issue at hand, no matter how complex. Rob's specific industry experience and knowledge has been invaluable over the years. What stands out most is the commitment and level of service we have experienced with Rob’s team and their dedication to the client."

Mike White – Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Five Pont Communities Management, Inc.

"We were introduced to Rob Lieske in late 2012 when we went through a transition of ownership. At that time, the housing market was at the tail end of one of the most difficult periods in history and finding insurers who would provide coverage at anything less than an outrageous cost was difficult. Rob and his team found a way to provide effective coverage at a reasonable cost with a creative solution through the London markets. We appreciate Rob and his team’s commitment to finding solutions that work."

J.T. McMickle – CFO, John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods

"We hired Gore Lieske less than six weeks prior to the expiration of all of our corporate insurance policies. Gore Lieske's performance during that short renewal period was amazing. We renewed or obtained new coverage that was better than our prior coverage at a savings over the prior year, and they made the process easy for me. The Gore Lieske team is efficient, knowledgeable and very responsive."

Susan D. Vavak – Director-Investment Administration, TriPacific Capital Advisors, LLC

"On behalf of everyone at HomeAid Los Angeles, thank you for being a generous Platinum level sponsor for our inaugural event… With your $10,000 donation, the event secured over $104,000, which ensures that more of our neighbors in need will move from homelessness to house throughout Los Angeles County."

Michael Foley – Executive Director, HomeAid Los Angeles

The core team at Gore Lieske & Associates has been working together for over ten years, exclusively serving builder-developer clients across the nation. We are proud to have built a practice that delivers a high level of specialized service for this particular clientele. Our desire to maintain this standard of service inspired our tight-knit team to leave the publicly traded broker world and take the risk to start our own company, as an affiliate of Wood Gutman & Bogart Insurance Brokers.

Robert K. Gore
Robert K. Gore
Partner, Managing General Partner

As a noted risk management consultant to the residential building industry, Robert K. Gore has spent almost two decades working with the top homebuilders across the nation. Bob began his underwriting career in London and later in the U.S. working on behalf of syndicates at Lloyd's of London, eventually winding up his underwriting career at AIG. Bob moved to the broking side in 1999 to work for Aon, later heading up the company's residential building practice group. Bob built a similar leading edge practice at Willis before forming his own company, Gore Lieske & Associates, with the goal of creating a less bureaucratic, more nimble firm that is dedicated to building long-term relationships with discerning clients.

Robert maintains that homebuilders "are a unique group" in that the clients are almost certain to use their insurance policies. "Understanding a builder's unique goals allows our team to tailor policies to our clients' maximum benefit. The coverage should be written in a manner that reflects the client's business model while offering the best protection the market can provide.”

From combing through policy language to negotiating policy changes, Bob insists upon attention to detail in the underwriting and management of his clients' business. "My team and I chose this very challenging specialty because we love to be engaged by our clients. Every day is interesting, and we enjoy that.”

Robert J. Lieske
Robert J. Lieske, Esq.
Partner, Managing Director of Insurance Operations

Rob began his professional life as an attorney in a construction defect litigation practice, and it's this experience that has formed his approach as an insurance broker working with the nation's top homebuilders. Having made the transition from the field of law to the world of insurance nearly two decades ago, Rob now is in a position to "help companies protect their business interests on a proactive basis," rather than on a reactive basis.

Rob’s ability to protect Gore Lieske clients starts in the early stages of policy review and negotiation of terms and conditions, where he works to create coverage that is as broad in scope as possible.  "The biggest mistake I've seen homebuilders make is failing to engage an insurance broker who specializes in this industry," he says. "The outcome typically is that the client ends up with coverage terms that are far less favorable than those available." Rob also works closely with the Gore Lieske claims team to bring his experience to bear on settlements.

Rob has worked for some of the world's largest insurance brokerages before coming to Gore Lieske. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Dayton. He received his Law degree from the University of Iowa, College of Law and maintains his law license and continuing education requirements annually.

Michael Matamoros
Michael Matamoros
Director of Controlled Insurance Programs

With specialized experience in owner-controlled insurance programs, otherwise known as “wrap” programs, Mike Matamoros provides clients at Gore Lieske & Associates with a distinct advantage – the ability to call the shots.

With thirty years of experience in insurance, Mike has spent the most recent decade advising clients in the residential and commercial building industry. His experience includes engagements at some of the largest global brokerages including Arthur J. Gallagher, Willis and Aon. Driven by the goal of total client satisfaction, he says the secret to his success is that he genuinely feels his clients’ concerns.

Advising on projects worth billions in construction value, Mike designs and helps his clients implement wrap programs that are built on their terms, with higher limits and inclusion of all subcontractors. It is the strategy he has used to for projects ranging from a $2 billion school district to a $3.5 billion courthouse for the State of California.

Mike holds a degree in communications from California State University at Fullerton.

Kelley Gubernick
Kelley Gubernick
Account Executive

With over 18 years' experience working with homebuilders, Kelley has one of the strongest backgrounds in the business. Having worked her way up through the industry, Kelley is very familiar with all aspects of servicing a homebuilder. That knowledge, coupled with her unparalleled focus on customer service, attention to detail and work ethic make her one of the most valued account executives in the industry by her clients.

Kelley especially enjoys the demanding nature of a homebuilder focused team. “We know that in this litigious environment these clients will actually have to rely on the coverage we place, so it’s crucial that the coverage is adequate and properly structured."

Kelley began her career with the core team while still at Aon and has worked with them for over 15 years. Kelley has been instrumental in setting up the technology and processes at Gore Lieske and in addition to her account executive role, oversees the training of all new hires and reviews internal processes to ensure they are as client friendly and streamlined as possible.
